Tagada

The video work Tagada explores the interactions between movement, sound and colour. A series of objects and sculptures manufactured by artist Valentina Pini, interrogating our visual perceptions, are featured in the video. The music, composed by Adam Maor, draws its materials from a series of virtual objects shadowing Pini’s sculptures, as well as a series of analyses of the evolution of colour. These parameters are translated to advanced additive synthesis, the unique sound source of the piece. Image and sound are equally enigmatic and abstract, playing with the perception of materials and their power of illusion.

Tagada was commissioned by Ensemble Vidya (Geneva) and premiered at Fonderie Kugler (2016). The video installation was exposed at Kunst(zeug)haus – Schena da vedro in Rapperswil (2017) and Art Athina – Contemporary art fair in Athens (2016).
